Chris Summerfield's Classification Talk

Your Title here

Chris Summerfield, who joined the Club in January, was short-noticed for his Classification Talk early last month. Chris has in quick order agreed to be Club Sergeant-at-Arms, participated often in TV Bingo and has put his technical expertise to immediate use. Chris was introduced by President Alysson, and described his early beginning in C-K. He attended Tecumseh High, studied history at the University of Windsor, then decided to teach for a period in South Korea, at a time when tensions were high with the North.
Married with 2 sons (helpful at Bingo!) and a step-daughter, Chris described himself as a natural salesman. After stimts at Tepperman's and Sacwal, he dabbled in broadcasting with The Rock FM and Lead Wave Technology. Last summer, Chris was suddenly stricken blind while driving. Discovering he had severe diabetes, Chris adjusted his lifestyle and happily reported that he is now on lowered medication. Recently Chris joined 99.1 CKXS FM based in Wallaceburg as the Sales Advisor.
We are pleased to have the talent and enthusiasm that Chris brings to Rotary.

Bayside Brewery Vsiits

Your Title here

Brad Langford introduced local entrepreneurs Frank and Wesley Thompson of Bayside Brewing Company. Frank and his wife along with 2 partners created Bayside and the inhouse restaurant in the historic but well-worn Lakeview Inn in Erieau in 2011. Frank had the inspiration for this kind of operation early on, but instead had a career in the family grain business. Since the opportunity arose, the operation has grown to a restaurant staff of 50, a sales team headed by son Wesley that supplies 100 restaurants across most of Ontario and have sold 420,000 liters of beer and 50,000 pizzas!
There are 38 Craft Breweries in Ontario, growing to 10% of the market. Bayside in kegs, bottles and cans, and plans are underway to expand the capacity and add a canning line (now contracted out). No samples were available, but Erieau is only 20 minutes away and there are now a broad range of regular and seasonal choices, coming to an LCBO near you.  See more at baysidebrewing.com
